Energy Security and Climate Change Program

Geoffrey Kemp, Director of Regional Strategic Programs, and Executive Director Paul J. Saunders co-direct the Center's program on energy security and climate change. The effort focuses primarily on three key issues:

  • How can the United States improve its energy security while addressing the problem of climate change?

  • What will be the impact of the rapidly growing energy demand in China and Asia on U.S. interests?

  • How can the U.S. work with key partners, like the EU and Japan, and other major stakeholders, like China and Russia, to promote cooperative approaches to energy and climate?

  • The program has included a U.S. - European - Japanese dialogue on energy and climate issues, as well as seminars on other related topics.
